At United South Central, we're committed to providing learning environments that support student success

today while preparing for tomorrow. 

 

Over the past year and a half, we've worked alongside students, parents, community members, and our

Community Task Force to better understand those needs to study our facilities, evaluate enrollment trends, assess

educational needs, and gather community feedback through meetings and a district-wide survey. Most importantly, we listened. 

 

The planning process has confirmed both the need and a clear path forward. On July 14, the United South Central School Board voted unanimously to place a $22.9 million bond referendum on the November 3, 2026, ballot, almost $3 million less than what was proposed in the community survey.  

 

When our current school opened in 2014, it was designed to serve approximately 625 students. Today, the district serves approximately 745 students, and enrollment is projected to approach 800 students within the next 5 years. As a result, the building is operating beyond the capacity it was designed to serve. This growth has placed increasing strain on classrooms, physical education space, student programming, and parking.

The proposed plan includes new classrooms, expanded learning spaces, a multi-purpose space for school and community use, improvements to early childhood programming, and site improvements that enhance safety and accessibility. Together, these improvements address today’s space needs while preparing for future growth.
